THE POWER OF SCENTED CANDLES FOR MENTAL WELLBEING

In today's busy world, finding moments of peace and tranquility is essential for maintaining our mental wellbeing.

I’m Ryan Fox, co-founder of FOX & WOLF, and I'm passionate about helping people overcome burnout, anxiety, depression, and other challenging issues. With almost 9 years working in mental health as a Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, I've witnessed firsthand the transformative effects of incorporating scented candles into therapy spaces and at home.

Scented candles have been a staple in my therapy sessions for years, and for good reason. Not only do they fill the room with beautiful fragrance, but they also have a profound impact on mental wellbeing and create a sense of familiarity and comfort. Research has shown that scented candles can improve mood, reduce stress and anxiety, promote relaxation, and even enhance sleep quality.

Orange, lavender, jasmine, ylang-ylang, sandalwood, patchouli, peppermint, basil, and rose are all proven to help lower anxiety, and you can find all of these in the FOX & WOLF collection. But my favourite fragrance is Senzia, which combines soothing lavender oil with a subtle citrus undertone and a hint of powdery musk. However, fragrance preference is subjective – what works for one person may not work for another. That's why it's important to explore different scents until you find the one that resonates with you and helps alleviate your anxiety and stress.

Here are a few simple ways you can incorporate scented candles into your daily routine to boost your sense of calm:

  • Start your day with a meditation session bathed in candlelight. Embrace the fragrance as you centre yourself for the day ahead.
